About the beach

A long stretch of sand with dunes on the Aguçadoura coast, taking in the Pedras Negras and Paimó beach fronts; the same strip of sand also includes the Codixeira and Estela-Barranha beaches. A boardwalk over the dunes protects the dune vegetation. According to Visit Portugal, the sea here is a little calmer than at neighbouring beaches because the shape of the coastline breaks the swell. It is part of the Praia Acessível 2026 programme.
