A small bay in Porches, east of Praia da Senhora da Rocha, also known as Praia das Gaivotas or Vilalara beach, after the resort on the clifftop. A long, gently sloping paved staircase leads down through pines and mastic trees. The sand has plenty of sheltered nooks and, to the east, a sea stack shaped like a ship; there are submerged rocks in the bathing area, so take care when swimming or diving. It is a designated swimming beach with a lifeguard in the bathing season, plus a bar and sunshades and loungers for hire. Water quality was rated Excellent in 2025.
