About the beach

A golden-sand beach beside the Calheta marina, about 100 metres long with a sun terrace of around 7,300 m². Opened in 2004 with sand imported from Morocco, it was Madeira's first artificial beach and is protected by two breakwaters. Entry is free, with sun loungers and parasols, a bar, changing rooms and first aid.
