About the beach
A beach of yellow sand, brought from Morocco, on the right bank of the Ribeira de Machico river mouth, in the town's bay. It is about 70 metres long and one of the few beaches of this kind on the island, popular with families and visitors. It has lifeguards in the bathing season, changing cabins, showers, toilets, parking, boardwalks and facilities for people with reduced mobility.
