About the beach

Bathing complex at the mouth of the Boaventura stream, west of Santa Cruz town centre, next to the marina and the Aquaparque. It has two pools, a large sun deck, changing rooms, toilets and a terrace, plus a small sheltered pebble cove between the boating area and the pools with access to the sea; VisitMadeira notes it is popular with families with young children. The Boaventura bathing water is in the 2026 Portaria (1 June to 30 September), but with no guaranteed lifeguard cover at the time of publication. Water quality was rated Excellent in 2025.
