About the beach

A bathing area in Anjos Bay, on the north coast of Santa Maria, with a concrete platform and two seawater pools, one smaller for children, as well as open-sea swimming over basalt slabs. It has sun terraces, showers, a bar and parking and is on the 2026 Accessible Beach list. Next to the bay stands the chapel where Christopher Columbus had Mass said on his return from America.
