About the beach

A beach on the Vale do Rossim reservoir, at around 1,437 metres, on the upper plateau of the Serra da Estrela, Gouveia municipality, near Penhas Douradas. Centro de Portugal tourism presents it as the highest river beach in the country and suitable for families, with a snack bar and canoeing and kayaking. The dam is part of the range's hydroelectric network.
