About the beach

River beach on the Loriga stream, a tributary of the Alva, at about 800 m altitude in a glacial valley of the Serra da Estrela, inside the Natural Park. It has a lifeguard in July and August, changing rooms, a first-aid post, a bar, a shaded picnic area, a playground and an amphibious wheelchair. It is a starting point for the Garganta de Loriga route and other walking trails.
