On the right bank of the River Cávado at Vila de Prado, Faial river beach has a wide lawn with shade trees, a bar, toilets, changing rooms, a picnic area, a children's playground, a beach-volleyball court and parking, and lies on the Cávado and Homem ecovia. It has a lifeguard and holds the Blue Flag and Accessible Beach awards; Merelim São Paio beach (Braga) is on the opposite bank.
