About the beach

A rural river beach on the River Cávado at Palmeira, about 10 minutes by car from Braga's historic centre, with a wide sandy area, lawns and clusters of oak trees. It has a picnic area with barbecues, a bar, toilets, showers, a first-aid post, sports pitches, an amphibious wheelchair and a lifeguard. The mini hydro plant 250 m upstream can raise the water level late in the day, with a siren warning.
