About the beach
A rural beach with a long stretch of sand on the shore of the Caniçada reservoir, just past the bridge linking Rio Caldo to the village of Gerês, looking out over the mountains, the Rio Caldo marina and the São Bento da Porta Aberta sanctuary. There is a bar, toilets and water-sports operators. There is no lifeguard; take care with uneven depths and slippery access.
