About the beach

River beach on the left bank of the River Alva, beside a weir, about 500 m from the village of Secarias and 3.5 km from Arganil. Alder trees along the bank shade the area, which has a picnic site and, according to Visit Portugal, showers, a bar and parking. The municipality provides an amphibious wheelchair, and during the 2026 bathing season (15 June to 7 September) lifeguards were on duty daily from 11:30 to 19:30.
