The sandy beach is contained in size and urban in character, with the density of Albufeira immediately behind. Despite its proximity to the centre, the cliffs that surround it create a visual enclosure that distinguishes it from the open beaches of the area. It is a beach of convenience for those staying in the old town area — and one of the most direct points of entry to the sea in this part of the Algarve.
