A small golden-sand beach, about 80 m long, just east of the rocky headland that closes Albufeira bay, with views along the coast to Vilamoura. The heavily eroded cliffs have notches, sinkholes and galleries, and there are some rocks in the bathing area. In the rainy months a small stream lined with reeds and poplars reaches the sand. A rock platform at the foot of the cliff leads west to a cliff-top path that continues to the beach by the São João fort.
