Better known as Praia do Alemão, it sits between the Ponta João d'Arens headland to the west and Praia do Vau to the east. The name comes from the reed-lined stream that runs onto the sand. Ochre and red cliffs with arches, caves and sea stacks surround it, and it is well sheltered on windy days. There is a beach bar, first-aid post, toilets and sunshade area, with a lifeguard in the bathing season. From the car park a footpath runs along the clifftops to near Prainha. Water quality was rated Excellent in 2025.
