The south side of the tombolo that joins the former island of Baleal to the mainland: fine white sand curving for more than 3 km towards Peniche de Cima. Less exposed to the wind than the north side, its sea is calmer, especially in summer. A long-standing surf area; the only road into the village runs across the beach.
