A beach at the mouth of the Paredes stream valley, about 7 km from Pataias, once the site of a medieval port chartered by King Dinis (1282) and later buried by sand. The open beach has strong waves suited to surfing; to the north, a rock formation known as the 'castle' separates it from Polvoeira beach. Cafés, restaurants and a playground in the central area.
