About the beach

A river beach on the north bank of the Mira estuary, by Vila Nova de Milfontes' riverside avenue and the closest beach to the village centre. It has a frontage of about 430 m and the APA classes it as transitional (estuary) water. The council describes it as one of the town's most traditional and popular beaches, used by families with children, with canoeing and stand-up paddleboarding common. In the bathing season (30 May to 30 September 2026) it has lifeguards, sunshade hire, toilets, changing rooms, a restaurant and parking. Water quality was rated Good in 2025.
