About the beach

Portinho da Arrábida is the defining beach of the Arrábida coast — a cove with emerald-green and turquoise water whose exceptional colour comes from the white limestone cliffs that surround the bay. Water quality is Excellent. It sits within the Parque Natural da Arrábida, which limits vehicle access and contributes to preserving the quality of the environment. Diving at Portinho is among the richest on the Portuguese coast, with underwater visibility and marine biodiversity that are rarely found elsewhere on the continental shoreline.
