About the beach

Natural pools (poças) enclosed by basalt rocks in the parish of Mosteiros, on the west coast of São Miguel. The bathing area is open sea, with a bottom of basalt slab, gravel, pebbles and cobbles, and high exposure to swell. It has a bar and lifeguard cover in the bathing season, and held the Blue Flag every season from 2017 to 2025.
