About the beach
A rocky-coast bathing and thermal area within the Pico das Camarinhas – Ponta da Ferraria Natural Monument. Volcanic hot springs, emerging at over 60 °C, warm a natural sea inlet with a basalt-slab bottom. At low tide the water can get very hot, and getting in and out calls for care and agility, helped by ladders and ropes. The Termas da Ferraria spa is next door.
