About the beach

Small urban beach of fine sand, about 180 metres long, in Água de Alto parish on São Miguel's south coast, west of the main Água d'Alto beach on the way to Vila Franca do Campo. According to the official bathing-water profile it has lifeguards in season, changing rooms, accessible toilets, a beach bar, parking and step-free access. It flew the Blue Flag every year from 2017 to 2024. In 2026 the bathing season runs from 13 June to 13 September. Water quality was rated Excellent in 2025.
