About the beach
A long stretch of sand on the Costa Vicentina, set in a valley ringed by low hills and bounded to the north and south by schist cliffs. At low tide it joins Praia do Penedo, forming more than 3 km of sand. It is popular mainly with surfers and bodyboarders. Access is via about 5 km of tarmac and dirt road, with parking and a short wooden boardwalk.
