About the beach
A golden-sand beach, about 470 m long, at the eastern end of Quarteira, next to the last groyne of the town beach and already in a more natural setting, between built-up areas to the west and greenery to the east. It is backed by low, soft ochre cliffs whose base the sea often reaches, exposing pine roots; further east, pines stand on reddish cliffs. With no groynes on this stretch, the beach has lost a lot of sand. Water quality was rated Excellent in 2025.
