About the beach

Town beach of Costa da Caparica, whose beaches are protected by groynes and linked by a promenade. It is the Blue Flag beach closest to central Lisbon, very popular with people arriving by bus. The initials stand for Centro Desportivo de Surf, and the sea draws surfers and bodyboarders. The sand is narrow and almost disappears at high tide and in winter. It shares its bathing water with neighbouring Praia de Santo António.
