About the beach

A Costa da Caparica beach between Praia da Mata and Praia da Rainha, south of the town. It sits midway along a long stretch of sand, with low dunes and, behind them, woodland that cannot be seen from the beach. It draws a mostly young crowd. In the bathing season (1 June to 30 September 2026) it has lifeguards and a concession with sunshade hire, toilets, a bar and parking. Almada council lists surfing, bodyboarding and stand-up paddleboarding among the activities. Water quality was rated Excellent in 2025.
