About the beach

Foz do Lima beach is on the south bank of the River Lima, in Darque, by the river mouth and facing the town of Viana do Castelo, between two groynes and north of Cabedelo beach. It is a river beach, just short of the open sea. It has a restaurant, parking, toilets, showers and an area for water sports, plus a lifeguard in the bathing season. It is part of the 2026 Accessible Beach programme, with bathing equipment and assistance, and holds a Blue Flag in 2026. It does not yet have an annual water quality rating.
