Amoreira Beach, near Aljezur, combines an ocean beach with the mouth of the Aljezur stream, forming an estuary and lagoon system. Behind the sand lies a large dune field, known locally as the medos da Amoreira, and to the north a schist and greywacke cliff looks like a giant lying on the sea. At low tide, rocks and broad lagoons are exposed. You can swim in fresh or salt water, and the sea suits surfing and bodyboarding. It is reached by 7 km of tarmac road from the Aljezur sports complex, and the MEO Amoreira webcam streams the sea live.
