About the beach
A river beach on the River Arões, also known as the Amarela, in the village of Pontemieiro, parish of Junqueira, at the foot of the Serra da Freita. Recently refurbished, it has space for picnics, shade and a barbecue. Once a year the water takes on a yellowish tint that gives the river its name. There is no lifeguard. In July 2025, bathing was prohibited for 12 days after Salmonella was detected.
