About the beach

On the Azibo reservoir, inside the Albufeira do Azibo Protected Landscape, the Fraga da Pegada river beach mixes strips of sand with lawns, with rounded pebbles along the shore and shaded areas. The water suits swimming and non-motorised water sports such as rowing, sailing, windsurfing and canoeing. It has lifeguard cover, showers, parking, a bar and a restaurant, and is part of the 2026 Accessible Beach programme. Praia da Ribeira lies on the same reservoir. In 2025, bathing was advised against on 5 days.
