About the beach
A river beach on the banks of the River Távora, a tributary of the Douro, at Vila da Ponte in Sernancelhe municipality, on a stretch of the valley where the river widens above the Vilar dam. It has a lawn and sand, boardwalks and floating pools for different ages, 50 cm and 1.20 m deep. A picnic area and restaurants are close by, and the beach has lifeguard cover during the bathing season.
